The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 700068-1012 is a lead-free brass male adapter fitting designed to transition a 5/8-inch compression connection to a 3/4-inch male NPTF threaded connection. This fitting is used to join copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing to a threaded pipe or valve body without soldering. The compression side uses a 13/16-18 thread specification, while the male NPT side is 3/4-14 thread. Built from lead-free brass, this adapter meets requirements for potable water and plumbing applications where lead-free materials are mandated. It is installed by licensed plumbers and experienced tradespeople working on water supply, refrigeration, or gas distribution lines.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration piping where a compression-to-male-threaded transition is required. It handles operating temperatures from -40 to 250 degrees F, making it appropriate for both cold water supply lines and moderate-temperature hot water applications. Compatible with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing on the compression side, it provides flexibility across common tubing materials found in the field.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing on the compression side. Compatible with standard female NPT-threaded ports and fittings on the 3/4-inch side. Suitable for potable water, HVAC, and refrigeration piping systems requiring a lead-free compression-to-male-NPT transition.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before disassembly or fitting installation. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing, then snug with a wrench - do not overtighten, as over-compression can deform tubing and cause leaks. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads in accordance with local plumbing codes before threading into the mating connection.
