The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 700068-0602 is a lead-free brass male adapter fitting designed to transition a 3/8-inch compression connection to a 1/8-inch male NPTF (MNPTF) threaded port. Built from lead-free brass, it meets modern potable-water and plumbing code requirements. The compression side uses a 9/16-24 thread interface, while the male NPT side is threaded 1/8-27. Rated for service from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this adapter handles the thermal range found in residential and light commercial water, gas, and instrumentation lines. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians reach for this style of fitting when connecting copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing to a threaded port on a valve, manifold, or instrument body.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant-adjacent tubing runs, gas appliance supply lines, and instrumentation connections where a compression-to-male NPT transition is required. Its compact profile fits tight spaces, and the lead-free brass construction satisfies low-lead compliance requirements under NSF and applicable state plumbing codes. It is compatible with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing on the compression side.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing on the compression side. Connects to any standard 1/8-inch MNPTF threaded port on valves, manifolds, or instrument bodies.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off the water or gas supply and depressurize the line before making or breaking any fitting connection. Hand-tighten the compression nut first, then use an appropriately sized wrench to snug the fitting - avoid over-tightening, which can crack the ferrule or distort plastic tubing. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads in accordance with local plumbing or mechanical code requirements.
