The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 700066-0808 is a lead-free brass female coupling designed to transition between a 1/2-inch compression connection and a 1/2-inch female NPTF threaded port. It is a standard plumbing fitting used to join tubing runs to threaded pipe fittings in potable water, residential, and light commercial plumbing systems. The fitting carries a thread specification of 11/16-20 on the compression side and 1/2-14 on the NPTF side. Rated for service from -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this coupling handles the temperature range typical of domestic hot and cold water distribution lines. Licensed plumbers and pipe fitters are the primary installers.
This coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing must connect to a female NPTF-threaded port. Common install scenarios include fixture supply connections, shutoff valve hook-ups, and branch line transitions in new construction or retrofit work. The lead-free brass construction meets regulatory requirements for use in potable water systems. Its compact profile makes it practical in tight spaces such as under-sink installations and in-wall rough-in work.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, or plastic tubing in 1/2-inch compression applications connecting to 1/2-inch female NPTF-threaded fittings and valves.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable local plumbing code and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before disassembly or fitting installation. Compression fittings require proper tube squareness and insertion depth to seat the ferrule correctly - do not overtighten, as this can crack the ferrule or distort the tubing. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPTF threads per standard practice before threading onto the mating fitting.
