The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 691212 is a forged brass 90-degree male elbow fitting designed for push-to-connect pneumatic and fluid line applications requiring Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) compliance. One end accepts 3/4-inch tubing via a push-to-connect mechanism, while the other end terminates in a 3/4-14 male NPTF thread for leak-free sealing without a sealant compound. Rated to 150 psi and a temperature range of -40 to 200 degrees F, this fitting handles the demands of air brake, compressed air, and related fluid conveyance systems. The 15/16-inch hex body allows standard wrench installation. Plumbing and fleet maintenance technicians working on commercial vehicle and industrial air lines are the primary installers.
The 691212 is suited for use in commercial vehicle air brake circuits, pneumatic control lines, and other D.O.T.-regulated tubing assemblies where a 90-degree direction change is needed between a tubing run and a threaded port. The push-to-connect end allows fast, tool-free tube insertion, making it practical in tight installation areas where swaging or flare tools cannot be easily used. Its forged brass construction is compatible with standard nylon and polyethylene air brake tubing used in truck, trailer, and industrial pneumatic service.
Designed as a D.O.T.-compliant push-to-connect replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/4-inch OD air brake and pneumatic tubing systems terminating at 3/4-14 NPTF threaded ports on commercial vehicles and industrial equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with D.O.T. air brake system regulations and applicable FMCSA requirements. Before servicing any air line connection, depressurize the system completely and verify zero residual pressure. Use a calibrated wrench on the 15/16-inch hex to thread the NPTF end into the port; do not use pipe dope or tape on NPTF dry-seal threads unless specifically required by the application. When inserting tubing into the push-to-connect end, ensure the tube end is cut squarely and deburred for a proper seal.
