The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 691208 is a D.O.T.-rated 90-degree male elbow fitting manufactured from forged brass. It connects a 3/4-inch push-to-connect port to a 1/2-inch male NPTF threaded port, allowing a direction change in pneumatic or air brake tubing lines. The fitting is rated to 150 psi and operates across a temperature range of -40 to 200 degrees F. The 1/2-14 thread designation and 15/16-inch hex make installation straightforward with standard open-end or combination wrenches. Plumbers, fleet maintenance technicians, and pneumatic system installers use this type of fitting in compressed air and DOT-compliant tubing assemblies.
The 691208 is suited for use in commercial vehicle air brake systems, compressed air distribution lines, and industrial pneumatic circuits where a 90-degree change of direction is needed at a push-to-connect-to-NPT transition point. The push-to-connect side accepts tubing without additional tools, while the male NPTF thread provides a pressure-tight mechanical seal on the mating port. This fitting is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit applications requiring DOT-compliant components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for DOT-compliant push-to-connect brass fitting applications requiring a 3/4-inch push-to-connect by 1/2-inch male NPTF 90-degree elbow configuration.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with DOT air brake regulations or compressed air system requirements. Depressurize and isolate the air system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Apply thread sealant compatible with brass NPTF fittings on the threaded end; do not overtighten, as forged brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque. Confirm tubing is fully seated in the push-to-connect port and verify for leaks at operating pressure before returning the system to service.
