The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 690806SC is a D.O.T.-rated composite body 90-degree male elbow fitting designed for pneumatic push-to-connect tubing systems. It transitions a 1/2-inch push-to-connect port to a 3/8-inch male NPT thread, allowing a quick directional change in air line routing without additional adapters. Rated to 145 psi and capable of operating across a temperature range of -40 to 140 degrees F, this fitting is built for reliable service in demanding mobile and stationary compressed-air applications. A positional swivel feature on the push-to-connect side simplifies alignment during installation. Licensed HVAC technicians, fleet maintenance technicians, and plumbing contractors working with DOT-compliant air systems are the primary installers.
This fitting is suited for use in DOT-regulated compressed-air systems including truck and trailer brake lines, pneumatic control circuits, and air-supply runs in commercial and industrial environments. The composite body construction offers corrosion resistance while keeping weight low. The 3/8-18 NPT thread pitch is standard across a wide range of control valves, manifolds, and inline components, making this elbow a practical choice wherever a 90-degree direction change and port-size transition are needed in a single fitting.
Designed as a DOT-compliant push-to-connect composite body male elbow for use in pneumatic tubing systems requiring a 1/2-inch push-to-connect connection and a 3/8-inch male NPT port.
Depressurize and isolate the air system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Thread the male NPT end into the receiving port by hand first, then tighten with a wrench to avoid cross-threading; apply thread sealant appropriate for pneumatic service per the system manufacturer's requirements. Insert tubing into the push-to-connect port until it seats fully, then verify retention by pulling back on the tube. Inspect for leaks under pressure before returning the system to service.
