The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 690804SC is a D.O.T.-compliant composite body 90-degree male elbow fitting designed for pneumatic push-to-connect plumbing applications. It joins a 1/2-inch push-to-connect port to a 1/4-inch male NPT port, allowing a direction change in tubing runs without additional hardware. The fitting features a positional swivel on the push-to-connect end, making it easier to align tubing after installation. Rated to 145 psi and tested across a temperature range of -40 to 140 degrees F, this fitting is suited for compressed air and DOT-regulated air brake or pneumatic control systems. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fleet maintenance technicians typically install this type of fitting.
This fitting is used in residential and commercial pneumatic systems, as well as DOT-regulated vehicle air brake circuits and control lines. The composite body construction makes it a lightweight alternative to all-brass fittings while maintaining pressure and temperature ratings appropriate for most compressed air service. The 1/4-18 NPT thread connects directly to standard male pipe ports on valves, manifolds, actuators, and similar components. The 1/2-inch push-to-connect end accepts compatible OD tubing without tools, enabling fast field assembly or service.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for DOT composite push-to-connect pneumatic systems using 1/2-inch OD tubing and 1/4-inch male NPT ported components.
Depressurize and bleed down the air system completely before removing or installing any pneumatic fittings. The push-to-connect end seats tubing by inserting it straight and fully into the collet until it stops. The NPT male threads should be wrapped with thread sealant tape or paste appropriate for compressed air service before installation. Verify all connections are leak-free under system pressure before returning the circuit to service.
