The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 690604S is a D.O.T.-rated 90-degree male swivel elbow fitting designed for push-to-connect pneumatic and fluid line applications. Constructed from forged brass, this fitting connects 3/8-inch push-to-connect tubing on one end to a 1/4-inch male NPTF swivel on the other. It carries a 150 psi pressure rating and operates across a temperature range of -40 to 200 degrees F, making it well suited for commercial vehicle air systems, compressed air plumbing, and similar service environments. A 9/16-inch hex flat simplifies installation with standard hand tools.
This fitting is intended for use in D.O.T.-compliant air brake systems and pneumatic control lines found on trucks, trailers, and other commercial vehicles, as well as stationary compressed air distribution systems. The 90-degree swivel elbow geometry allows directional routing in tight spaces where straight or fixed-angle fittings cannot provide adequate clearance. Technicians working on vehicle air systems or industrial compressed air lines will recognize the push-to-connect design as a fast, no-tools tube insertion method that reduces assembly time.
Designed as a D.O.T.-rated push-to-connect brass swivel elbow fitting for use with 3/8-inch OD tubing in compressed air and pneumatic control systems requiring a 1/4-inch male NPTF swivel connection.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with D.O.T. air brake or pneumatic system service. Depressurize and drain the air system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Thread the NPTF swivel end into the mating port using the 9/16-inch hex flat and a wrench, being careful not to overtighten forged brass threads. Insert tubing fully into the push-to-connect end until it seats, and verify retention by pulling back on the tube before returning the system to pressure.
