The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 690302 is a forged brass, DOT-compliant 90-degree male elbow fitting designed for pneumatic and fluid line connections in mobile equipment, air brake, and compressed-air applications. One end accepts 3/16-inch OD tubing via a push-to-connect mechanism for tool-free tube insertion. The other end is a 1/8-inch male NPTF thread (1/8-27 thread pitch) for a pressure-tight, dryseal connection into a port or body. Rated to 150 psi and qualified for service from -40 to 200 degrees F, this fitting handles the thermal and pressure demands typical of vehicle and equipment plumbing work.
This fitting is suited for residential and commercial mobile equipment, fleet maintenance, and light industrial plumbing where a direction change from a threaded port to a push-to-connect tube run is required. Common install scenarios include air brake systems, pneumatic control lines, and compressed-air distribution manifolds on trucks, trailers, and off-road equipment. The forged brass construction resists corrosion and provides reliable sealing in both dry and lightly lubricated air service.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for DOT-compliant push-to-connect pneumatic and air brake plumbing systems using 3/16-inch OD tubing and 1/8-inch NPTF threaded ports.
Installation is performed by plumbers, fleet mechanics, or pneumatic systems technicians. Depressurize and isolate the air circuit completely before removing or installing any fitting. Thread the NPTF male end into the receiving port by hand first, then tighten with a wrench to achieve a dryseal engagement - do not overtighten forged brass threads into softer alloy bodies. Insert tubing into the push-to-connect port until it seats fully; verify retention by pulling back firmly on the tube before re-pressurizing the system.
