The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 69-42 is a 90-degree male elbow fitting designed for use in low- and medium-pressure fluid and gas lines. It connects 1/4-inch compression tubing to a 1/8-inch male pipe thread (MPT) port, allowing a right-angle transition between tubing runs and threaded equipment connections. Constructed from brass, this fitting handles pressures up to 300 psi and temperatures ranging from -65 to 250 degrees F. Thread specifications are 7/16-24 on the compression side and 1/8-27 NPT on the male pipe side. It is installed by plumbers, HVAC technicians, and instrumentation trades wherever a compact directional change is needed in a tubing circuit.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial applications including refrigeration lines, pneumatic controls, fuel systems, and instrument tubing runs. It is compatible with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing on the compression end. The 90-degree angle is useful in tight equipment enclosures where straight fittings cannot clear surrounding components. The brass construction resists corrosion in most water, oil, and gas service environments, making it a reliable choice for long-term installations in mechanical rooms, equipment panels, and utility spaces.
Designed for use with copper, aluminum, and thermoplastic tubing on the compression end. The 1/8-inch MPT outlet connects to any standard 1/8-27 NPT female-ported equipment or manifold.
This fitting is typically installed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians. Shut off all system pressure and depressurize the line before disassembly or installation. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing, then snug with a wrench - do not overtighten, as brass compression fittings can crack or deform ferrules if overdriven. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MPT threads in accordance with local code requirements.
