The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 67708 is a reducer face bushing designed to step down a 3/4-inch male pipe thread (MPT) connection to a 3/8-inch female pipe thread (FPT) connection. Constructed from black steel, this bushing is rated for 150/300 psi service and meets ASME B16.14-1991 dimensional standards. The thread sizing is 3/4-14 NPT on the male end and 3/8-18 NPT on the female end. At 0.62 inches in length and approximately 0.10 pounds, it is a compact, heavy-duty fitting used in gas, air, and fluid piping systems. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of fitting when a pipe reducer is needed at a threaded port or valve face.
This face bushing is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications where a reduction in thread size is required at a fitting, valve, or manifold port. Typical uses include natural gas distribution piping, compressed air lines, and water or hydraulic systems operating within the rated pressure range. The black steel construction makes it a standard choice for gas-line work where galvanized fittings are not permitted by code. It ships with a minimum order quantity of one and is part of the black steel fittings product family.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for black steel threaded piping systems requiring a 3/4 in MPT to 3/8 in FPT reduction at a face connection point.
This fitting is typically installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC technicians working on threaded pipe systems. Always depressurize and isolate the line before installing or removing threaded fittings. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, following local code requirements such as the IFGC or IPC. Do not over-torque the fitting, as black steel threads can be damaged by excessive force.
