The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 64205 is a 45-degree street elbow designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing, gas, and mechanical systems. It connects a 1-inch male pipe thread (MPT) on one end to a 1-inch female pipe thread (FPT) on the other, allowing a direction change within a single fitting without requiring a coupling. Constructed from malleable iron with a galvanized finish, it carries a 150 lb pressure class rating and is rated for service from -20 degrees F to 350 degrees F. The 1-11-1/2 thread specification conforms to ANSI B 16.3 dimensional standards. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in low-pressure pipe runs where a compact, in-line angle change is needed.
This street elbow is suited for residential and light commercial applications including water supply lines, natural gas distribution piping, steam systems, and compressed air lines operating within the 150 lb pressure class. Its galvanized malleable iron construction resists corrosion in exposed or damp environments. The street configuration eliminates the need for an additional close nipple when making a direction change directly off a valve, fitting, or equipment port, saving space in tight mechanical runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch NPT threaded pipe systems rated at 150 lb pressure class in plumbing, gas, and mechanical piping applications conforming to ANSI B 16.3.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC, IFGC, or local mechanical codes. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Hand-tighten first, then use a pipe wrench to bring connections to proper engagement - do not overtighten malleable iron fittings. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before disassembling or installing any threaded fitting.
