The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 63777 is a half coupling fitting designed for joining pipe in industrial and commercial piping systems where corrosion resistance is required. One end accepts a 1-1/2-inch female NPT threaded connection using a 1-1/2-11-1/2 thread form, while the opposite end is configured for socket weld attachment. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, this fitting is rated for 150 lb pressure class service. At approximately 2 inches in diameter and just under 1 inch in length, it fits into tight spaces without sacrificing structural integrity. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this fitting in process, mechanical, and utility piping applications.
This half coupling is suited for residential and commercial mechanical rooms, industrial process lines, and utility piping where stainless steel is specified for corrosion or sanitary requirements. The combination of female NPT threading and socket weld end makes it a versatile transition fitting used when connecting threaded pipe or equipment to a welded piping system. It falls within the 150# stainless steel fitting category and is appropriate for moderate-pressure service lines carrying water, steam, chemicals, or other compatible media.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 150 lb rated stainless steel piping systems using 1-1/2-inch NPT threaded and socket weld connections.
Socket weld end installation requires a certified welder working in accordance with applicable piping codes such as ASME B31.3 or B31.1. The threaded NPT end should be assembled with an appropriate thread sealant rated for the service media and pressure. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting in or modifying any fitting. Verify material compatibility between the 316 stainless steel fitting and the pipe, process media, and any dissimilar metals in the system to avoid galvanic corrosion.
