The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 63759 is a barstock hex socket countersunk plug designed to close off threaded pipe openings in fluid and gas distribution systems. Machined from 316 stainless steel, this fitting carries a 150 lb pressure class rating and meets ASME B1.20.1 dimensional standards. The 1/16 in MPT connection uses a 1/16-27 thread form, making it a compact solution for sealing small-diameter ports on manifolds, valves, equipment bodies, and instrumentation taps. The hex socket drive allows installation and removal with an Allen key in tight spaces where a standard wrench cannot reach. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install these plugs during system assembly, testing, and maintenance.
This plug is rated for use with air, water, oil, natural gas, and steam media, making it suitable across residential and light commercial piping systems as well as industrial process lines. The 316 stainless steel construction resists corrosion in wet, chemical-exposure, or outdoor environments. Its countersunk profile allows the plug to seat flush or recessed within the fitting body, which is useful on ported manifolds and valve blocks where a protruding plug would interfere with adjacent components or panels.
Rated for use with air, water, oil, natural gas, and steam media. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 150 lb class threaded pipe systems using 1/16 in MPT ports conforming to ASME B1.20.1.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Shut down system pressure and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded plug. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads in accordance with the applicable piping code before torquing the fitting into place. Do not over-drive the hex socket, as the small thread size is susceptible to damage from excessive torque.
