The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 63636MS is a hex head plug designed to seal off pipe ends and unused ports in fluid and gas piping systems. Machined from 316 stainless steel, this plug resists corrosion in demanding environments including chemical exposure, saltwater, and high-moisture installations. It connects via a 1-1/4-inch male NPT thread with a 1-1/4-11-1/2 thread pitch and is rated to a 150 lb pressure class. The external hex drive allows installation and removal with a standard wrench. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial service technicians install this type of fitting wherever a threaded port needs to be closed off permanently or temporarily.
This plug is suited for use in residential and commercial piping applications where 316 stainless steel is specified for corrosion resistance. Common install scenarios include process piping, marine plumbing, chemical lines, food-grade systems, and any application requiring a reliable, corrosion-resistant pipe closure at a 1-1/4-inch NPT connection. It fits within the SP-114 stainless steel fittings product family.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 1-1/4-inch NPT threaded pipe systems requiring a stainless steel hex head plug at a 150 lb pressure class.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC and ASME B31 piping codes. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply a compatible thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before tightening. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the female fitting or pipe threads.
