The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 63450 is a 150 lb class reducing coupling designed to connect a 1-1/2-inch female pipe thread (FPT) line to a 1-1/4-inch FPT line in a single inline fitting. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, it delivers strong corrosion resistance in demanding service environments. Thread dimensions are 1-1/2-11-1/2 on the larger end and 1-1/4-11-1/2 on the smaller end, conforming to standard NPT thread profiles. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in commercial and industrial pipe systems where a clean, threaded pipe reduction is required without the use of a bushing.
The 63450 is rated for use with air, water, oil, natural gas, and steam, making it a versatile choice across HVAC, plumbing, and process piping applications. Its 316 stainless steel construction suits corrosive or high-purity environments where standard carbon steel or brass fittings are not appropriate. Typical installations include mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, compressed air systems, and process lines where pipe size transitions are needed at a threaded connection point.
Rated for use with air, water, oil, natural gas, and steam piping systems. Designed as a standard 150 lb class threaded reducing coupling for use in systems requiring a 1-1/2-inch to 1-1/4-inch FPT inline transition.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) as required by the service medium. Shut off and depressurize the pipeline fully before removing existing fittings or installing this coupling. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads mating into this fitting, following the sealant manufacturer's guidance for the specific service medium. Do not over-torque threaded connections on stainless steel fittings to avoid galling the threads.
