The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 62711 is a 4-inch nominal hex locknut manufactured from 304 stainless steel and rated for 150 psi service pressure. Hex locknuts are threaded female fittings used to secure and lock piping connections at bulkheads, panels, or mating fittings, preventing loosening under vibration or flow pressure. The female straight thread connection ensures a flush, secure seat against the mating fitting face. At 1.33 pounds, this is a solid, corrosion-resistant component suited for demanding installations where standard carbon steel would be inappropriate. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial service technicians install this type of fitting in systems where joint integrity and material compatibility are critical.
This hex locknut is designed for use in 150-pound class piping systems using 4-inch nominal pipe. The 304 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for applications exposed to moisture, mild corrosives, or environments requiring sanitary or corrosion-resistant materials, such as water treatment, food processing support lines, marine utility systems, and commercial plumbing. The female straight connection type is standard for bulkhead and panel-mount applications where a locknut secures a fitting body from the opposite side of a panel or fitting surface.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for 150-pound class, 4-inch nominal threaded piping systems using 304 stainless steel fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or ASME B31 piping codes. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Use appropriate pipe wrenches or hex tooling sized to the fitting; do not use adjustable tools that may deform the hex body. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape as required by the system fluid and local code.
