The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 62606MS is a 304 stainless steel pipe union rated for 150 lb service. It connects two sections of 1-1/4 in female NPT piping and allows for quick disconnection and reconnection without disturbing the surrounding pipe layout. The three-piece union design - two end pieces and a center nut - creates a pressure-tight seal suited for demanding plumbing, process, and industrial applications. At 1.38 pounds and compact overall dimensions, this fitting installs cleanly in tight mechanical spaces. Plumbers and pipefitters working with corrosion-resistant piping systems reach for 304 SS unions in wet, chemical-exposure, or hygienic environments where carbon steel is not appropriate.
This union is intended for use in fluid piping systems where 1-1/4 in threaded connections are specified. It is appropriate for residential and commercial plumbing, light industrial process lines, and HVAC condensate or chilled-water piping where corrosion resistance is required. The 150 lb pressure class covers standard low-to-medium pressure service conditions common in these applications. It belongs to the SP-114 series of 304 stainless steel fittings, which are designed to complement standard 304 SS pipe and nipple runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/4 in NPT threaded pipe systems requiring 304 stainless steel construction and 150 lb pressure class service. Part of the MIDLAND INDUSTRIES SP-114 Fittings series.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Depressurize and drain the pipe system fully before disassembling any existing union or installing a new one. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the female NPT threads per the sealant manufacturer and applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines. Do not overtighten the union nut - snug by hand then use a pipe wrench for final engagement, stopping when the joint is pressure-tight without deforming the union seat.
