The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 62442 is a 150 lb rated reducing coupling designed to connect piping of two different female-threaded sizes in a single inline fitting. Machined from 304 stainless steel, it accepts a 1-in FPT connection on one end and a 3/4-in FPT connection on the other, using a 1-11-1/2 x 3/4-14 thread specification. The 304 stainless construction provides corrosion resistance suitable for a wide range of fluid and gas service applications. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this fitting wherever a threaded pipe run transitions from 1-inch to 3/4-inch nominal pipe size under a 150 lb pressure class rating.
This reducing coupling is rated for use with air, water, oil, natural gas, and steam service, making it applicable across residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems. Typical installations include water supply lines, gas distribution piping, compressed air systems, and steam condensate lines where a pipe size reduction is needed without additional fittings. Its compact dimensions and stainless steel construction suit both exposed and concealed installations in environments where corrosion resistance is a priority.
Rated for use with air, water, oil, natural gas, and steam piping systems. Designed as a standard 150 lb class threaded reducing coupling for use in systems requiring a 1-in to 3/4-in FPT threaded connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes, including IPC and IFGC requirements for gas and water piping. Shut off and depressurize the affected pipe system before disassembly or installation. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service medium before threading the fitting onto pipe. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as this can crack or distort fittings.
