The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 62418MS is a full-size pipe coupling designed to join two 2-inch female NPT threaded pipe ends in a single inline connection. Built from 304 stainless steel, this fitting delivers corrosion resistance suited to plumbing, industrial, and fluid-handling applications where carbon steel or brass fittings would degrade. It carries a 150 lb pressure class rating and a 2-11.5 thread specification, making it a standard-duty threaded fitting for a wide range of process and utility piping systems. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this type of coupling when joining threaded pipe runs or extending existing lines.
This coupling is appropriate for use in residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems handling water, air, and compatible fluid media. The 304 stainless steel construction makes it a common choice in corrosive or sanitary environments, including food service, chemical handling, and coastal or outdoor installations where moisture exposure is constant. It fits standard 2-inch NPT pipe conforming to ASME B1.20.1 threading, which is the most widely used threaded pipe standard in North American plumbing and mechanical systems.
Designed as a standard-duty threaded replacement or new-installation coupling for 2-inch NPT piping systems using 304 stainless steel fittings rated to 150 lb pressure class.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC or ASME piping codes. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male pipe threads before makeup. Do not use pipe wrenches directly on polished or thin-wall stainless fittings without jaw protection, as marring the surface can create crevice corrosion sites over time.
