The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 620072SS is a wide band worm drive clamp engineered for secure, corrosion-resistant clamping in demanding service environments. Part of the 620 Series, it features an all-316 stainless steel construction - band, housing, and screw - making it suitable for wet, chemical-exposed, or marine-adjacent applications. The clamp accommodates a minimum diameter of 3 inches and a maximum diameter of 5 inches, giving installers flexibility across a range of hose and fitting sizes. The 5/16-inch bolt drive is compatible with standard hex drivers and nut drivers. At 0.08 pounds, it is lightweight without sacrificing holding strength. HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical contractors reach for this clamp when a standard light-duty band clamp will not meet corrosion or load requirements.
The 620072SS is suited for residential and commercial applications where hose-to-fitting connections must resist moisture, mild chemicals, or repeated thermal cycling. Typical uses include HVAC condensate drain lines, plumbing drain and vent connections, pool and spa plumbing, and general-purpose hose clamping on equipment requiring a wide band profile for increased clamping surface. The wide band design distributes clamping force more evenly than a standard narrow band clamp, reducing hose deformation on softer tubing materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation worm drive clamp for hose and fitting connections requiring a 3-inch to 5-inch clamping range with a wide band profile.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or mechanical contractors. Depressurize and drain the line before removing any existing clamp. Position the clamp over the hose so the band sits fully on the fitting barb, then tighten the worm screw with a 5/16-inch nut driver or hex driver until the hose is firmly seated - do not overtighten to the point of cutting into softer hose materials. Verify no leakage under normal operating pressure before returning the system to service.
