The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 620072 is a worm gear clamp from the 620 Series, designed to secure hoses, tubing, and flexible pipe connections in a wide range of trade and industrial applications. Built with a stainless steel band, housing, and screw, this clamp resists corrosion in wet, chemical-exposed, and outdoor environments. It has a nominal size of 3 inches, a minimum clamp diameter of 3 inches, and a maximum clamp diameter of 5 inches. The 1/2-inch-wide band and single 5/16-inch bolt allow precise tightening with a standard hex driver or nut driver. This clamp weighs approximately 0.09 pounds and meets SAE 72 specifications.
The 620072 suits residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC duct and hose connections, irrigation systems, marine applications, and general-purpose mechanical installations wherever a reliable, corrosion-resistant band clamp is required. The stainless steel construction makes it a practical choice for installations exposed to moisture, exhaust, or mild chemicals. The wide clamping range of 3 to 5 inches accommodates variations in hose and fitting outside diameters, reducing the need to stock multiple clamp sizes for a single pipe size range.
Designed as a general-purpose worm-drive hose clamp suitable for hoses and tubing with outside diameters between 3 and 5 inches in plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical system applications.
Installation is typically performed by plumbers, HVAC technicians, or mechanical contractors using a flat-head screwdriver or a 5/16-inch nut driver. Ensure the hose or tubing is fully seated on the fitting before positioning the clamp, and locate the clamp at least 1/4 inch from the end of the hose. Tighten the screw evenly to achieve a firm, leak-free seal without over-torquing, which can deform the band or damage flexible hose. Shut off flow and depressurize the line before installing or removing the clamp.
