The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 620032SS is a wide band worm drive clamp designed for secure, corrosion-resistant clamping in demanding trade applications. Built from 316 stainless steel throughout - including the housing, band, and screw - this clamp delivers strong resistance to moisture, chemicals, and salt exposure. It accepts a minimum clamp diameter of 1-9/16 inches and a maximum of 2-1/2 inches, making it suitable for a range of hose and fitting sizes. The 5/16-inch bolt drive allows for tightening with standard hand tools. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general mechanical contractors install this type of clamp where long-term reliability and material compatibility are required.
This clamp is suited for residential and commercial installations involving hose connections, pipe fittings, and flexible couplings. Typical applications include HVAC condensate lines, plumbing drain connections, irrigation systems, and general-purpose mechanical assemblies where a stainless steel clamp is specified. The wide band design distributes clamping force evenly across the hose surface, reducing the risk of cutting or deforming softer hose materials. It is part of the 620 Series, which uses a 1/2-inch stainless steel band for added surface contact.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose worm drive clamp for hoses and flexible connections with an outside diameter between 1-9/16 inches and 2-1/2 inches, consistent with 32 size clamp specifications.
Installation is performed by plumbers, HVAC technicians, or general mechanical contractors using a standard nut driver or hex screwdriver. Ensure the hose or fitting is fully seated before tightening the clamp. Do not overtighten, as excessive torque can deform soft hose materials or strip the worm drive screw. Follow applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC when using clamps in potable water or gas-adjacent piping systems.
