The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 56133 is a Schedule 40 galvanized steel welded pipe nipple designed for threaded pipe connections in plumbing, gas distribution, and industrial piping systems. Both ends are cut with 1-1/4 inch male pipe threads (MPT) conforming to ANSI B1.20.1 dimensional standards. The nipple measures 10 inches in length with a wall thickness of 0.14 inches and is rated to 1,300 psi working pressure. The hot-dip galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for both wet and dry service environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in commercial and residential applications where a schedule 40 threaded steel nipple is required.
This galvanized Schedule 40 nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, gas supply lines, fire protection piping, and general industrial fluid handling. It is commonly used to extend or connect threaded pipe runs, transition between fittings, or space out valves and inline components. The 1,300 psi pressure rating and broad temperature range of -150 to 200 degrees F make it appropriate for a wide range of system conditions. Plumbers and pipefitters working with 1-1/4 inch iron pipe size will find this nipple appropriate for standard above-ground and below-ground installations where galvanized steel is specified.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for 1-1/4 inch iron pipe size threaded systems using Schedule 40 galvanized steel pipe and fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC requirements where gas service is involved. Shut off all system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as this can crack cast fittings or damage threads.
