The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 54063220 is a hex pipe reducer bushing designed to transition between a 2-inch male NPTF connection and a 1-1/4-inch female NPTF connection in steel pipe assemblies. Constructed from steel and rated to 375 degrees F, this bushing delivers reliable sealing performance in demanding hydraulic and fluid-handling applications. The hex body allows for standard wrench engagement during installation and removal. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians rely on this type of fitting to reduce line size within a threaded pipe system without additional adapters or couplings.
This reducer bushing is suited for hydraulic systems and steel pipe adapter applications where a direct inline size reduction is needed. It fits within the MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 5406 Series of hex pipe reducer bushings, making it a straightforward OEM-style replacement or new-installation component. Typical use cases include industrial fluid lines, hydraulic circuits, and similar high-temperature threaded pipe assemblies where a 2-inch to 1-1/4-inch reduction is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for steel threaded pipe systems requiring a 2-inch male NPTF to 1-1/4-inch female NPTF inline reduction in hydraulic and fluid-handling assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified hydraulic technician. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any threaded pipe fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPTF threads per the system fluid and pressure requirements. Tighten using a properly sized pipe wrench on the hex body; do not over-tighten, as steel NPTF fittings can crack under excessive torque applied beyond hand-tight plus standard turns.
