The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 54062012 is a hex pipe reducer bushing designed to transition between two different pipe sizes in threaded steel piping systems. The male end connects at 1-1/4 inches NPTF with a 1-1/4-11-1/2 thread, while the female end accepts a 3/4-inch NPTF connection with a 3/4-14 thread. Constructed from steel, this bushing is rated for temperatures up to 375 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding hydraulic, compressed air, fuel, and fluid transfer applications. Plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians install this fitting where a line must step down from 1-1/4-inch to 3/4-inch pipe.
This bushing is used in hydraulic systems, steel pipe assemblies, and industrial fluid lines where a threaded reduction is required without additional fittings or couplings. The hex body allows standard wrench engagement for secure installation and controlled torque application. It fits into residential and commercial piping scenarios and industrial equipment where NPTF thread sealing integrity is required to prevent fluid or pressure loss at the joint.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install fitting for steel threaded pipe systems using 1-1/4-inch and 3/4-inch NPTF connections in hydraulic and industrial fluid applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified hydraulic technician following applicable codes such as the IPC or relevant hydraulic system standards. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before removing any existing fittings or installing this bushing. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPTF threads unless a dry-seal fit is confirmed sufficient for the application. Use a properly sized wrench on the hex body - do not use pipe tongs directly on the hex flats in a way that could deform the fitting.
