The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 51107 is a seamless Schedule 80 pipe nipple machined from 304 stainless steel, rated for demanding fluid and gas service in commercial and industrial piping systems. It features 1-inch male pipe thread (MPT) on both ends with a 1-11-1/2 thread form conforming to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1. The nipple measures 5 inches in length and is rated to 3000 psi, making it suitable for high-pressure lines where standard Schedule 40 fittings are not adequate. The seamless construction eliminates weld seams, reducing the risk of stress failure points under cyclic or high-pressure loads. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this fitting across a wide range of system types.
This nipple is approved for use with air, water, oil, natural gas, and steam service, covering the most common piping applications in commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, industrial process piping, and gas distribution. The 304 stainless steel material resists corrosion in wet and chemically active environments, making it a common choice for coastal installations, food-service facilities, chemical plants, and anywhere carbon steel fittings would degrade prematurely. It installs with standard pipe wrenches and appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service medium.
Rated for use with air, water, oil, natural gas, and steam service piping systems. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch Schedule 80 stainless steel piping assemblies conforming to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 thread standards.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local mechanical codes. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before removing any existing fitting or installing this nipple. Apply thread sealant compound or PTFE tape rated for the specific service medium, including gas-rated sealant on natural gas lines. Do not over-torque; use a backup wrench on adjacent fittings to avoid stressing upstream connections.
