The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 46402M is a solid bottom fuel valve designed for controlling flow of fuel oils and gas in truck, drum, and tank applications. Built with a brass body and a pointer lever operator, it provides a durable, quarter-turn shutoff for field technicians and service professionals working on fuel distribution and transfer systems. The valve features a 3/8-18 thread size with FPT x MPT connections, a 1/4 inch diameter port hole, and is rated for pressures up to 30 psi across a temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F.
This valve is suited for residential and commercial fuel systems where LP gas, utility gas, or fuel oils No. 1 and No. 2 are in service. Common applications include drum dispensing setups, fuel transfer skids, and truck-mounted tank systems. The solid bottom design makes it appropriate for bottom-drain configurations on tanks and drums. Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers or fuel system technicians familiar with liquid and gas fuel handling equipment.
Designed for use with fuel oils No. 1 and No. 2, LP gas, and utility gas media in truck, drum, and solid bottom tank valve applications requiring 3/8 inch FPT x MPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified fuel system technician in accordance with applicable local codes and IFGC requirements for gas service or NFPA 31 for fuel oil systems. Shut off all fuel supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing this valve. Apply appropriate thread sealant rated for fuel service to all threaded connections. Do not overtighten; use a backup wrench on adjacent fittings to avoid stressing pipe connections.
