The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 46013 is a brass needle valve designed for precise flow control in compression-to-male pipe thread (MPT) installations. Built with a brass body, it handles pressures up to 150 psi and operates across a temperature range of -45 to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of fluid and gas service applications. The angled body configuration simplifies routing in tight spaces. At 0.09 pounds, the valve is compact and lightweight, fitting easily into panel or cabinet installations where space is limited. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this type of valve.
This needle valve is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration applications where incremental flow adjustment is required. The compression inlet connection accommodates 5/16-inch tubing, while the 1/8-inch MPT outlet threads into standard pipe fittings. Its angle-body design suits installations where the supply line and downstream piping run perpendicular to each other. It is appropriate for use with water, air, and compatible fluid systems operating within the rated pressure and temperature limits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation needle valve for compression-to-male pipe thread applications in residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC systems rated at 150 psi or below.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and the IPC or IFGC as relevant. Shut off the upstream supply and relieve system pressure completely before removing or installing the valve. Use appropriate compression ferrules and ensure the compression nut is seated correctly to prevent leaks. Do not overtighten the MPT outlet; use thread sealant tape on the male threads per standard practice.
