The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 45127LFCP is a 90-degree reducing elbow fitting designed to connect a 3/4-inch female pipe thread (FPT) port to a 1/2-inch FPT port at a right angle. Constructed from lead-free bronze with a chrome-plated finish, this fitting meets lead-free requirements for potable water applications. It carries a 125 lb pressure class rating, making it suitable for standard residential and light commercial plumbing service lines. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting where a directional change and a pipe size reduction are needed at the same junction, eliminating the need for a separate reducing coupling and elbow in line.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where water supply lines transition from 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch pipe at a 90-degree change of direction. Common applications include under-sink supply connections, fixture branch lines, and exposed plumbing installations where the chrome-plated finish provides a clean, corrosion-resistant appearance. The compact body dimensions make it well-suited for tight spaces inside cabinets or wall cavities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch female pipe thread connections in residential and light commercial water supply plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or paste to the male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus the number of turns appropriate for the fitting material - avoid over-tightening bronze threaded fittings, which can crack under excessive torque. Inspect all joints for leaks after restoring system pressure.
