The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 44517LFUSA is a lead-free bronze hex bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/4-inch male NPT connection down to a 3/4-inch female NPT connection. Manufactured from lead-free bronze and rated at a 125 lb pressure class, this bushing meets strict dimensional and material standards required for potable water and general plumbing service. The hex body allows wrench engagement for proper installation torque. At 1.08 inches in length with a 1-3/4-inch hex, it fits compactly in tight piping assemblies. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial water distribution systems where reducing transitions are required.
This hex bushing is suited for use in potable water supply lines, irrigation manifolds, and general plumbing piping systems where a 1-1/4-inch line must transition to a 3/4-inch branch or downstream connection. The lead-free bronze construction makes it appropriate for applications governed by lead-free compliance requirements, including installations subject to the Safe Drinking Water Act. Its NPT threading is compatible with standard pipe and fittings in copper, brass, and bronze piping systems commonly found in residential and light commercial construction.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard NPT bronze and brass piping systems requiring a 1-1/4-inch to 3/4-inch reducing bushing in potable water or general-service plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before threading this bushing into place. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten; use a pipe wrench on the hex flats only and follow standard NPT engagement practice.
