The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 444021 is a brass female-to-male hex adapter designed for fire hose connections. It transitions from a 1-1/2 inch Female NST (National Standard Thread) inlet to a 1-1/2 inch Male NPSH (National Pipe Straight Hose) outlet. The hex body allows for secure wrench engagement during installation and removal. Constructed from solid brass, it provides corrosion resistance and durability in demanding fire suppression and water delivery applications. This fitting is suited for use by fire protection contractors, industrial maintenance technicians, and municipal fire service personnel working with standard fire hose assemblies.
This adapter is used wherever a Female NST connection must mate with a Male NPSH fitting in a fire hose system. Typical applications include connecting fire hoses to hydrant outlets, standpipe connections, portable pump discharges, and other firefighting or industrial water supply equipment that uses these two common thread standards. The 1-1/2 inch size is a standard diameter in both residential and light commercial fire suppression setups.
Designed for use with standard fire hose assemblies requiring a Female NST to Male NPSH adapter in 1-1/2 inch size.
Installation should be performed by a qualified fire protection contractor or licensed plumber familiar with fire hose fitting standards. Shut off all water supply and depressurize the line before connecting or removing any fittings. Use the hex flats with an appropriate wrench to achieve a snug, leak-free connection without over-tightening brass threads. Verify thread compatibility and inspect the sealing surfaces before placing the assembly back into service.
