The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 40141USA is a Schedule 40 red brass pipe nipple sized at 1-1/2 inches diameter by 2 inches in length. Red brass nipples are manufactured from a copper-zinc alloy with higher copper content than standard yellow brass, giving them improved corrosion resistance in water, steam, and mild chemical service. This short-run nipple is used to make close threaded connections between valves, fittings, and pipe in pressurized plumbing and piping systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install these as standard close-connection hardware in both new construction and retrofit work.
