The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 40110 is a seamless red brass pipe nipple designed for threaded piping systems in plumbing, HVAC, and light industrial applications. Constructed from lead-free red brass, it provides dependable corrosion resistance in both hot and cold water service. The nipple measures 7 inches in length with a 1.063-inch inner diameter and a 1.315-inch outer diameter, featuring a 0.126-inch wall thickness. It carries a Schedule 40 rating and a 125 lb pressure class, rated to 630 psi at 100 degrees F. The 1-11-1/2 thread form conforms to ANSI B1.20.1 dimensional standards. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters handle installation in commercial and residential systems.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial piping installations where threaded brass fittings are required. Common applications include water supply lines, steam service within its rated temperature range, compressed air, and gas distribution piping where local codes permit brass fittings. The operating temperature range of -20 to 400 degrees F makes it appropriate for a wide variety of fluid handling systems. It is a standard close-coupled fitting used to join two female-threaded components at a fixed 7-inch center-to-center distance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component compatible with standard 1-inch female NPT threaded fittings and valves conforming to ANSI B1.20.1 thread standards in Schedule 40 piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten to snug plus the number of turns appropriate for NPT tapered threads without over-torquing brass. Inspect for leaks after restoring system pressure.
