The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 35250CE is a cold-expansion PEX reducing tee designed for potable water distribution and hydronic piping systems. Molded from polyphenylsulfone (PPSU), this fitting accepts cold-expansion PEX connections on all three ports: 3/4 inch on the two run ports and 1 inch on the branch port. PPSU material provides high heat resistance and long-term durability under repeated thermal cycling. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this fitting during new construction and remodel work where a branch takeoff at a different diameter is required within a PEX distribution system.

This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial cold-expansion PEX installations. The 3/4-inch run ports allow in-line continuation of a 3/4-inch main, while the 1-inch branch port accommodates a larger-diameter supply or return leg. It is used in domestic hot and cold water systems as well as radiant heating distribution manifolds where branch sizing differs from the main run. No copper, no solder, and no press tooling are required - only a cold-expansion tool and the appropriate PEX expansion rings.

Installation Notes

Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM F1960 cold-expansion PEX standards. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into any existing piping. Use a calibrated cold-expansion tool and correctly sized PEX expansion rings for each port diameter; do not mix expansion rings with push-fit or crimp fittings. Allow expansion rings to fully contract onto the fitting before pressurizing the system.
