The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 35049 is a lead-free brass reducing tee designed for PEX piping systems in residential and light commercial plumbing installations. It provides a three-way branch connection with a 3/4-inch run on both primary ports and a 1/2-inch branch outlet, allowing a main supply line to feed a reduced branch line from a single fitting. Rated to 160 psi and 200 degrees F, this fitting handles the pressure and temperature demands of domestic hot and cold water distribution. The lead-free brass construction meets drinking water safety requirements, making it suitable for potable water systems.
This reducing tee is used wherever a PEX distribution system requires branching from a 3/4-inch main to a 1/2-inch supply drop, such as feeding an individual fixture or appliance from a home-run or trunk-and-branch layout. Typical applications include new construction rough-in, repipe projects, and repair work on existing PEX systems. It is installed by licensed plumbers and qualified plumbing contractors.
Designed for use with PEX pipe in residential and light commercial potable water plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber using PEX crimp rings and a calibrated crimp tool, or stainless clamp rings with a clamp tool, depending on the PEX connection system in use. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before making any connections. Verify local plumbing code compliance under the IPC or applicable regional code before installation. Do not exceed the fitting's rated pressure or temperature limits.
