The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 33313B is a 90-degree elbow hose barb fitting designed to connect a 3/4-inch hose barb to a 1/2-inch male iron pipe (MIP) thread. Molded from polyethylene, this fitting handles fluid transfer in low-pressure plumbing, irrigation, and general-purpose piping applications. It carries a maximum operating pressure of 125 psi and performs across a temperature range of -65 to 190 degrees F. The 1/2-14 thread ensures a standard NPT-compatible connection, and the 15/16-inch hex flats allow secure wrench engagement during installation.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a direction change is needed between a barbed hose connection and a threaded pipe port. Common uses include irrigation systems, water transfer lines, pool and spa plumbing, and other low-pressure fluid systems where polyethylene's chemical resistance and flexibility are an advantage. It is typically installed by plumbers, irrigation technicians, and pool service professionals.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 3/4-inch ID hose with a 1/2-inch male NPT threaded port in low-pressure fluid piping applications.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or qualified irrigation or pool technician. Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure before removing any existing fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the MIP threads before making up the connection; do not overtighten polyethylene fittings as this can crack the hex boss. Secure the hose over the barb with an appropriately sized hose clamp to complete the assembly.
