The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 33307W is a male adapter fitting that connects a 1-inch hose barb to a 1/2-inch male iron pipe (MIP) thread. Molded from nylon, it is designed for low-pressure fluid transfer lines where a barbed hose end must transition to a threaded pipe connection. The fitting is rated to 125 psi maximum operating pressure and handles temperatures from -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. At 0.04 pounds, it is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant option suited for water, irrigation, and general-purpose plumbing applications. Plumbers, irrigation technicians, and maintenance pros install this fitting in both residential and light commercial systems.
This adapter is used wherever a flexible hose must terminate at a threaded pipe port. Common applications include irrigation manifolds, water supply lines, pool and spa plumbing, and HVAC condensate or auxiliary drain connections. The barbed end accepts a 1-inch inside diameter hose and relies on a clamp or crimp ring to secure the hose against pullout. The MIP threaded end uses a 1/2-14 NPT thread, which seals against a female pipe fitting using thread sealant tape or compound.
Designed as a standard replacement or new-installation plastic hose barb adapter for 1-inch ID hose to 1/2-inch female pipe thread ports in residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, and fluid transfer systems.
Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any fittings. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe thread compound to the MIP threads before making the threaded connection; do not overtighten nylon fittings as the material can crack under excessive torque. Secure the hose to the barbed end with an appropriately sized hose clamp or crimp ring to prevent blowoff under pressure. Installation should comply with applicable local plumbing codes.
