The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 32379 is a reducing splicer fitting designed to join two hose sections of different diameters in a single inline connection. One end accepts a 3/4-inch hose barb and the other accepts a 5/8-inch hose barb, allowing a clean transition between mismatched hose sizes without adapters or couplers. Constructed from brass, this fitting handles a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi and performs across a temperature range of -40 to 160 degrees F. The barbed profile is sized to seat hose securely and hold retention under clamp load. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid-system technicians install this fitting wherever a hose diameter reduction is needed in a clamped or crimped assembly.
This reducing splicer is suited for use in water, coolant, fuel, and low-pressure pneumatic hose assemblies where two different hose diameters must be joined inline. It is compatible with hose clamp, similar-type clamp, or crimped ferrule retention methods. Typical applications include residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC condensate and fluid lines, irrigation distribution, and equipment coolant circuits. The brass construction resists corrosion in wet service environments and is appropriate for both indoor and outdoor installations.
Designed for use with standard hose assemblies retained by hose clamps, similar-type clamps, or crimped ferrules in residential and light commercial fluid-handling systems.
Installation is performed by trade plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified mechanical technicians. Shut off fluid supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any hose fitting. Seat hose fully over each barb before applying the clamp or ferrule crimp to ensure a leak-free connection. Verify that the selected hose inner diameter matches the barb size on each end of the fitting before final assembly.
