The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 32346 is a 45-degree male hose barb elbow fitting manufactured from brass. It connects a 1/2-inch hose barb on one end to a 1/4-inch male NPTF thread on the other, providing a secure, angled transition between flexible hose and threaded pipe or equipment ports. The fitting is rated to 150 psi maximum operating pressure and handles temperatures from -40 degrees F to 160 degrees F. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid-system installers use this type of fitting wherever a 45-degree directional change is needed between a barbed hose connection and a tapered NPT threaded port.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial fluid-handling applications including fuel lines, coolant circuits, water supply lines, and pneumatic systems where operating conditions remain within the rated pressure and temperature limits. The hose barb end accepts standard flexible hose and is designed to be secured with a hose clamp, a similar-style clamp, or a crimped ferrule. The 0.59-inch body size and compact overall envelope make it practical in tight installations with limited clearance.
Designed for use with flexible hose secured by a hose clamp, similar-type clamp, or crimped ferrule on the barb end, and any standard 1/4-inch NPTF threaded port on the male end. Suitable for fluid and pneumatic systems operating within the rated pressure and temperature limits.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Depressurize and drain the system fully before removing or installing any fitting. The NPTF tapered thread is designed to seal on thread engagement; apply thread sealant or tape per the system fluid compatibility and applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines. Secure the hose barb end with an appropriately sized clamp or crimped ferrule before returning the system to service.
