The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 32096SS is a straight hose barb splicer designed to join two lengths of flexible hose in a single inline connection. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, this fitting resists corrosion in wet, chemical-exposed, and marine environments. Both ends use a standard hose barb configuration sized at 1/2 inch, providing a secure grip inside compatible hose ID when properly clamped. The fitting measures 2.06 inches in length with a center-to-end dimension of 0.97 inches and carries a maximum operating pressure rating of 150 psi. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid-system installers use this type of splicer to repair or extend hose runs without reducing flow capacity.
This splicer is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a durable, corrosion-resistant inline hose repair or extension is needed. Typical installations include potable water systems, cooling lines, chemical transfer hose assemblies, and marine or poolside fluid circuits where stainless steel is specified over brass or carbon steel. The 316 stainless alloy makes it particularly appropriate for saltwater-adjacent or chlorinated environments. The 1/2 inch barb-to-barb configuration accommodates standard 1/2 inch ID flexible hose stock.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fitting for standard 1/2 inch inside diameter flexible hose assemblies requiring a stainless steel inline barb splicer.
Installation is performed by plumbers, HVAC mechanics, or qualified fluid-system technicians. Shut off fluid supply and relieve line pressure completely before removing or installing hose fittings. Insert each barbed end fully into the hose ID and secure with appropriately rated hose clamps to maintain the 150 psi pressure rating. Follow applicable IPC or system-specific codes for hose material compatibility and clamp torque requirements.
