The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 32057 is a rigid female adapter fitting designed to connect a 3/8-inch hose barb to a 1/8-inch female NPTF threaded port. Constructed from brass, this adapter provides a reliable, leak-resistant connection in low-pressure fluid and gas transfer applications. It measures 1.47 inches in length with a 0.56-inch hex for wrench engagement. The fitting is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi and handles temperatures from -40 to 160 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of service conditions encountered in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping work.
This adapter is intended for use wherever a flexible hose must terminate at a female NPTF port. It is compatible with standard hose clamps, similar-type clamps, or crimped ferrules, giving installers flexibility in how the hose end is secured. Typical applications include low-pressure water lines, pneumatic circuits, fuel lines, and refrigeration or HVAC auxiliary plumbing where a small-diameter barb-to-pipe transition is needed. Its compact size suits tight installations in residential and light commercial equipment.
Designed for use with 3/8-inch inside-diameter hose assemblies secured by hose clamps, similar-type clamps, or crimped ferrules connecting to 1/8-inch female NPTF ported equipment or manifolds.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified pipefitter. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling any fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male mating thread before assembly; do not overtighten, as brass fittings can be damaged by excessive force. Verify that the connected hose and clamp or ferrule type are rated for the same pressure and temperature range as this fitting before returning the system to service.
