The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 30406 is a brass left-hand thread welding hose connector designed to join welding hose assemblies to gas supply lines and regulators. It features a 9/16-18 LH UNF male thread on one end and a 1/4-inch male NPTF thread on the other, allowing secure, leak-resistant connections in acetylene, oxygen, and similar welding gas applications. Rated to 150 psi maximum operating pressure with a service temperature range of -40 to 160 degrees F, this fitting handles the demands of both shop and field welding setups. The brass construction resists corrosion and provides reliable sealing performance across the rated pressure and temperature range.
This connector is suited for use in residential and commercial welding gas systems where a left-hand thread interface is required. The left-hand thread convention is standard on fuel gas connections in welding applications, helping prevent accidental cross-connection with oxygen-side fittings. Plumbers, pipefitters, and welding equipment technicians typically install this fitting when assembling or replacing welding hose connections on torches, regulators, and manifold systems. The compact profile, measuring approximately 1.2 inches in length and 0.62 inches across the hex, allows installation in tight spaces common in torch and regulator assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for welding hose assemblies requiring a 9/16-18 LH UNF male inlet and a 1/4-inch male NPTF outlet in brass construction.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter, plumber, or welding equipment technician familiar with compressed gas fitting practices. Shut off all gas supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any fitting. Apply thread sealant appropriate for gas service to the NPTF threads only; never apply sealant to left-hand threads unless specified by the gas supplier or equipment manufacturer. Verify all connections with a leak-detection solution before returning the system to service.
