The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 30382 is a 90-degree brass elbow fitting designed for push-on hose barb to male iron pipe connections in fluid and gas distribution systems. One end accepts a 1/2-inch push-on hose barb, and the opposite end features a 3/8-inch MIP thread with a 3/8-18 thread pitch. Rated to 150 psi, this fitting is built for reliable performance under working pressure in compressed air, water, and light fluid lines. The brass construction provides corrosion resistance suited for plumbing, HVAC, and general mechanical systems. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors are the typical installers for this type of fitting.
This elbow fitting is used where a direction change is needed between a flexible hose and a threaded male pipe connection. Typical applications include residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC equipment connections, compressed air lines, and fluid transfer assemblies. The push-on barb end secures a 1/2-inch hose without a clamp in low-to-moderate pressure applications, while the 3/8-inch MIP end threads into a female-threaded port on pumps, valves, manifolds, or equipment fittings. The compact geometry, measuring approximately 1.32 inches center to end on the barb side and 1.02 inches center to end on the MIP side, makes it well suited for tight installation spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 1/2-inch push-on hose and 3/8-inch female-threaded ports in plumbing, HVAC, and light industrial piping assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified mechanical technician in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MIP threads before making up the connection; do not apply sealant to the barb end. Ensure the hose is fully seated on the barb and inspect for leaks after pressurizing the system.
