The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 30238 is a straight brass adapter fitting that connects a 1-inch push-on hose barb to a 3/4-inch male NPT (MNPTF) threaded port. Designed for use in fluid transfer, pneumatic, and low-pressure hydraulic systems, this fitting bridges push-on hose assemblies to threaded pipe connections with a single compact body. Measuring 2.93 inches in length with a 1-1/4-inch hex for wrench engagement, the 30238 is rated to 150 psi and weighs approximately 0.43 pounds. The brass construction resists corrosion and is compatible with a wide range of media including water, air, and many petroleum-based fluids. Plumbers, pipefitters, and fluid-system technicians are the typical installers.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, pneumatic tool lines, and fluid distribution systems where a push-on hose must terminate at a male NPT threaded fitting. The 1-inch barb end accepts push-on hose with a matching 1-inch inside diameter, while the 3/4-inch MNPTF end threads directly into a female NPT port. The 1-1/2-inch barb length provides adequate grip area to secure the hose without additional clamps in low-pressure push-on applications. Thread specification is 3/4-14 NPT.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard component for push-on hose assemblies requiring a transition to 3/4-inch male NPT threaded connections in residential and commercial fluid systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off fluid or air supply and relieve all system pressure before removing or installing any fitting. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MNPTF threads before engagement and tighten to hand-tight plus wrench-snug - do not overtighten brass fittings as the material is subject to thread damage under excessive torque. Confirm the mating hose inside diameter matches the 1-inch barb before final assembly.
