The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 30063S is a short straight rigid adapter designed to connect a 3/4-inch male garden hose thread to a 3/4-inch male NPTF (National Pipe Taper Fuel) fitting. Machined from brass, this adapter provides a durable, corrosion-resistant connection in low-pressure water service applications. The fitting measures 1.10 inches in length with a 1.06-inch hex for wrench engagement, and it operates within a temperature range of 35 to 100 degrees F. It is compact by design, making it suitable for tight installations where space is limited. Plumbers, irrigation technicians, and maintenance professionals commonly install this fitting type.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial applications where a garden hose connection must transition to a male NPTF threaded port. Typical install scenarios include hose bibb extensions, portable equipment hookups, and irrigation manifold connections. The 3/4-11-1/2 garden hose thread mates with standard garden hose fittings, while the 3/4-14 NPTF thread provides a pressure-sealing connection to pipe or equipment ports without requiring a separate sealant in many cases. This fitting falls within the brass fittings product family under the garden hose section.
Designed for use with standard garden hose assemblies requiring a transition to a male NPTF pipe thread connection in residential or light commercial water service.
Installation is typically performed by plumbers or irrigation technicians. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before installing or removing any threaded fitting. NPTF threads are designed to seal on the threads themselves, but applying PTFE tape or pipe thread sealant to the NPTF end is common practice per IPC guidelines. Do not over-tighten brass fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
