The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 29SB-42 is a single barb connector designed to join flexible fuel hose to a threaded male port in low-pressure fluid systems. One end features a 1/4 inch single barb for hose retention, while the other end is a 1/8 inch male NPTF thread sized to a 1/8-27 thread specification. Constructed from brass, this fitting provides reliable corrosion resistance in fuel and fluid transfer applications. It is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi and handles temperatures from -40 degrees F to 160 degrees F, covering the thermal range typical of underhood and equipment fuel routing.
This fitting is specified for use with SAE 30R7 and SAE 30R9 fuel hose, making it applicable in small engine, marine, and off-road equipment fuel systems where a barb-to-pipe-thread transition is required. Plumbers, equipment technicians, and fleet maintenance professionals commonly install this type of fitting when routing fuel or compatible fluid lines to threaded ports on carburetors, fuel pumps, or manifolds. Its compact brass body suits tight installation areas where a low-profile transition fitting is needed.
Designed for use with SAE 30R7 and SAE 30R9 fuel hose. The male NPTF end connects to any 1/8-27 female NPTF threaded port on compatible equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with fuel system service procedures. Shut off the fuel supply and relieve line pressure before disassembling or replacing any fuel fitting. NPTF threads are tapered and designed for a dry-seal fit, but thread sealant compatible with fuels may be applied per manufacturer guidance. Inspect the hose end for cuts or wear before seating it over the barb, and verify that the hose specification matches SAE 30R7 or SAE 30R9 before installation.
