The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 29FGH-612 is a short shank swivel adapter with a knurled nut, designed to connect a 3/8-inch hose barb to a 3/4-inch female garden hose thread. Constructed from brass, this fitting delivers reliable corrosion resistance in water-service applications. It measures 1.82 inches in length with a 1.18-inch hex and carries a 3/4-11-1/2 thread specification. The swivel design allows the garden hose end to rotate freely during connection, reducing kinking and thread-cross risk. Plumbers, irrigation techs, and general trades installers use this fitting when transitioning between barbed tubing and standard garden hose connections.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial water distribution, irrigation lines, and hose-bib extensions where a 3/8-inch barb outlet meets a 3/4-inch female garden hose port. It is rated for operating temperatures between 35 and 100 degrees F, making it appropriate for cold and ambient water service. The knurled swivel nut allows hand-tightening for a secure, leak-resistant seal without specialty tooling. It is not intended for high-pressure or steam applications.
Designed as a standard replacement or new-install fitting for systems using 3/8-inch hose barb tubing with 3/4-inch female garden hose thread connections, consistent with the MAF/USA Barb x FGH Swivel product line.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or irrigation technician. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before connecting or disconnecting this fitting. Secure the hose barb end with an appropriate clamp to prevent pullout under flow. Thread the swivel nut hand-tight first, then snug with a wrench only if needed to prevent over-tightening and thread damage on plastic or soft-metal mating ports.
