The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 28673 is a brass high flow coupler in the ST Series, designed for pneumatic systems requiring reliable, high-volume air flow at a 3/4-inch female pipe thread (FPT) connection. Built from solid brass, this coupler delivers durable, corrosion-resistant performance across a wide operating temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F. The FPT configuration allows direct threaded connection to standard pipe fittings without adapters. Weighing approximately 0.475 pounds, the compact body measures 1.95 inches in length, 1.65 inches in height, and 1.55 inches in width, making it well suited for tight plumbing and pneumatic panel installations where space and flow capacity both matter.
This coupler is intended for use in pneumatic distribution systems found in commercial and industrial environments. It is commonly installed on air lines, compressor outlets, and pneumatic tool supply circuits where a high flow rate is critical to system performance. The ST Series high flow design reduces pressure drop across the connection point, which is important in multi-tool or high-demand compressed air setups. Licensed mechanical contractors, pipefitters, and qualified pneumatic technicians are the typical installers for this type of fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install fitting for pneumatic systems using 3/4 inch FPT connections in the ST Series high flow coupler family.
Depressurize the air supply line completely before removing or installing any pneumatic coupler. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe compound rated for compressed air service to the male threads before making the FPT connection. Hand-tighten first, then wrench-tighten to a snug, leak-free fit - avoid over-tightening brass fittings, which can crack the threads. Verify there are no leaks under operating pressure before returning the system to full service.
