The MIDLAND INDUSTRIES 28109 is a brass hex bushing designed to reduce a 3/4-inch male NPTF connection down to a 1/4-inch female NPTF port. This fitting is used to adapt pipe sizes within a pressurized system, handling working pressures from 1000 to 1200 psi and operating temperatures from -65 to 250 degrees F. The hex body provides a secure grip point for installation with a standard wrench. The 3/4-14 x 1/4-18 thread specification ensures proper thread engagement and sealing on both ends. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians use this fitting in gas, oil, air, and fluid piping applications.
This hex bushing is suited for residential and commercial piping systems where a threaded port reduction is required. It is commonly installed in manifolds, equipment connections, instrumentation ports, and branch line fittings. Compatible pipe materials include brass, bronze, copper, steel, aluminum, and iron pipe, making it a versatile choice across a wide range of piping assemblies in HVAC, plumbing, and industrial service work.
Designed for use with brass, bronze, copper, steel, aluminum, and iron pipe in threaded NPTF piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters using a standard open-end or adjustable wrench on the hex body. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply thread sealant appropriate for the service fluid and verify compatibility with the pipe material before assembly. Follow applicable IPC and IFGC guidelines for thread engagement and pressure testing after installation.
